Lateral VFSS — swallow imaging
A VFSS, sometimes referred to as a "swallow x-ray", is a specialised instrumental assessment used to evaluate how a person swallows food and fluids. A series of x-ray images are taken while the individual consumes foods and fluids of varying consistencies containing a contrast material.
As a Speech Pathologist with advanced competency-based training in VFSS, I can self-conduct and facilitate the assessment process from referral through to comprehensive reporting and management recommendations.
